We want to thank you for coming and contributing to the success of the first fundraiser for Semillas de Amor Children’s Village. We were overwhelmed with the generosity of spirit and resources that allowed us to clear $25,000 in contributions! This will make such a difference in the lives of the 32 children you saw and heard about last week.
We will continue to work tirelessly toward our year end goal of $100,000 so Semillas can enter the New Year completely stable under it’s new financial paradigm.

Top 5 Ways You Can Help
1. Sponsor a Child for a Month or Year: $200 a month or $2400 a year
This includes 24//7 care by child development specialists, nutritious food, shelter, clothing, medical attention, educational materials, and social skills training from personal hygiene and self-care to cooperating well in groups.
2. Sponsor a Teacher for a Year: $6000
This will fund a full time high quality teacher from the extraordinary teaching training organization, "Planting Seeds." These teachers are uniquely prepared to guide the lives of our kids.
3. Sponsor Life Enrichment for a Month or Year: $50 a month or $600 a year
We recognize that not all education happens in the classroom. This will fund life experiences such as equine therapy, music classes, and field trips that are essential to develop a child into a well rounded adult.
4. One Time Donations
There are many ways a larger one time donation can have permanent impact on the lives of our kids and the future of Semillas de Amor. We have listed some of the priorities for 2010-2011, but we are also interested in hearing from you if you have other interests that may intersect with Semillas plans.
- Install our solar lights: $2000
- Improve electricity to the Children's Home: $3000
- Purchase neighboring land to support expansion of our school to local school children: $20,000
- Build a multi-purpose covered play area and gathering space enabling our kids to be outside despite often unpredictable and extreme weather conditions: 30,000
- Purchase a safe, used, high seating capacity van and truck for the children's home: $45,000
- Help construct the 2nd floor of Semillas de Amor. This floor will house the library, computer lab, and lodging for volunteer teams: $82,000
5. Time is Money
We hope to develop many Semillas de Amor Ambassadors who can assist with fundraising, host an event in their home, and/or spread the word about Semillas de Amor in your own creative ways. We also know that many of you have deep experience and potentially fruitful connections in your communities and companies. We would like to explore all of this with you.
